2012. Wow is all I can say.
I know it is not even December yet, but I have definitely been reflecting on it the last few days which I guess begins to happen with a lot of people around Thanksgiving. I have a lot to give thanks for. We have seen losses on both sides of our family Kathryn first losing her father earlier this year to a heart attack and then my aunt succumbing to cancer in August. I am thankful that I have an awesome wife (who, by the way, has lost 72 lbs. herself!). I have a job I enjoy going to, great family, a roof over my head, and now for the first time in my life I am in control of my health. I look at the above pictures and I am still so blown away to think I looked like that 10 months ago.
Things have been a little frustrating the last couple of months. I have been fighting through some pain in a couple of areas and it has slowed my progress down some. I am actually very happy with how my body looks so, at the end of the day, I really have not been too bummed. And things are feeling better.
In addition, my roller hockey team just won our league championship last weekend which was awesome. We came out on top out of 10 teams in the league. It was very cool for me as the first season we played in the spring of 2011 was one of the major events that kickstarted my lifestyle change. So it was a victory for me in another way to win that championship.
Tusken Raiders - Fall 2012 NAIHL Champs
I am looking forward very much to the next year. I want to lose a few more pounds and get down to about 180 and then just focus on toning up and maintaining my weight. I am also going to explore some newer types of ways to workout. I would really like to get into more boxing or even MMA style workouts. And of course I will have to train hard so that I can be in top shape to help defend our NAIHL championship :)
With my workouts now, I am doing about 50% fat loss/cardio/athletic training and then 50% weight lifting. It has been awesome and a new challenge to really get into more weight lifting then I was before.
Stay tuned for my next blog. I will be sharing my wife's amazingly simple, healthy, and delicious hot chocolate recipe.

Your progress has been amazing. I'm so glad to have "met" both of you as you both continue to be a source of drive and inspiration for me. And congrats on the championship! You should come visit and play some hockey w/ Kev!
